Knitting for others

So, my brother and his wife are now the proud parents of two lovely little ones – a boy and a girl. I had a lot of fun knitting these two blankets for them, but I learned why I rarely knit anything more than once. I have to admit I got a little weary of the pattern not far into the second. However, I am happy with how they came out. I need to work on my picture taking, but here’s what they look like:

The pattern was easy enough, intarsia and texture. Here’s a close up of the texture blocks:

Details:
Pattern: Heart and Star Baby Wrap by Debbie Bliss
Yarn: 100% Merino – Louet Gems Sport Wt. in Crabapple/Coral and Blue/Cream
Needles: 4.0mm
Notes: I chose the yarn because it is merino and machine washable — a perfect combination in my opinion for little ones.

Welcome, little ones, I can’t wait to meet you!

What beautiful blankets! I don’t think I could have finished the first one, much less the second. Gorgeous work.
